I love roasted cauliflower. It’s so easy to make and has a rich flavor. It gets all nice and caramelized when roasted I also like to use it as a conduit for curry, which contains the miracle health-protecting, antioxidant-rich turmeric root. Have you heard about turmeric’s wonderful anti-inflammatory benefits?
You can do so much with cauliflower! Make cauliflower rice, cous cous, “faux”tatoes, or even these cauliflower wraps. Cauliflower is very versatile and can be easily used in place of grains or starch for lower carb side dishes.
It may not get a lot of love, but cauliflower is great for liver support and high in antioxidants, fiber, and B vitamins. Check out this easy roasted cauliflower I made today for lunch. This garlic adds an extra superfood punch here.

Why is roasted cauliflower better than steaming?
Roasting cauliflower at high heat creates caramelized edges and a deeper, nutty flavor that steaming cannot achieve. The browning process enhances texture and satisfaction while keeping the inside tender. This method increases palatability and encourages consistent vegetable intake.
How does turmeric in curry support health?
Turmeric contains curcumin, a bioactive compound known for antioxidant and anti inflammatory effects. When used in curry seasoning, it supports cellular protection and may help manage inflammatory stress. Pairing turmeric with healthy fats improves absorption and overall benefit.
Can cauliflower replace grains or starches?
Yes. Cauliflower can be processed into rice, mash, wraps, or couscous style dishes, making it a lower carbohydrate alternative to grains. It provides fiber and micronutrients while helping stabilize blood sugar and support digestive health.
What nutrients does cauliflower provide?
Cauliflower supplies fiber, vitamin C, B vitamins, and protective plant compounds. As a cruciferous vegetable, it supports natural detox pathways and digestive balance. Its nutrient profile helps reduce oxidative stress and promote steady metabolic energy.
Why add garlic to roasted cauliflower?
Garlic contains sulfur compounds such as allicin that support immune defense and cardiovascular health. When roasted, garlic enhances flavor while contributing antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, increasing both taste and nutritional value.
How do you make cauliflower crisp on the outside?
Spread florets in a single layer with enough space for airflow. Toss once during roasting and finish under the broiler briefly to enhance browning. High heat and proper spacing allow moisture to evaporate, creating a crisp exterior without overcooking.
What dishes pair well with spicy roasted cauliflower?
Spicy roasted cauliflower pairs well with roast chicken, grass fed beef, lamb, or plant based proteins. Its bold curry flavor complements simple proteins and balanced meals, making it a versatile nutrient dense side dish for everyday or special occasions.
